The series production began in 2013 and was first aired in 2014.[1] The show is web streamed and televised. PNIA was developed by Todd Anderson, president of Rush Street Productions and co-founder of the Heartland Poker Tour.
The show hosts various cash games at local casinos across the United States and is sponsored by 888poker.[2] During the filming of the season one Shaun Deebslow rolledMike Matusow with quad 5s resulting in Matusow having an outburst.[3] Since the incident, slow rolling has become a tradition on the show. Professional poker players such as Danielle Andersen, Maria Ho, Alec Torelli, Layne Flack, Phil Laak, Tom Schneider and others have appeared on the show.[4]
In 2017, the show presented King of the Hill, a series of $50,000 buy in heads up sit & gos with players such as Daniel Cates, Phil Hellmuth, Doug Polk, Olivier Busquet, Dan Colman and Parker Talbot competing for a $200,000 prize.[5][6][7]
Joe Stapleton and Chris Hanson were the commentators for the first 5 seasons. In 2018, PNIA intends to replace the current commentators with celebrities.[8]
Poker Night, released in the UK as The Joker, is a 2014 crime thriller film that was written and directed by Greg Francis. The film was released to video on demand on 5 December 2014 and had a limited theatrical release on 20 December. Danielle Andersen (born May 21, 1984) is an American professional poker player previously sponsored by Ultimate Poker.[1] Andersen's competitive nature led her to pick up the game after watching her future husband, and friends, play in college in 2003. Finding herself winning on a regular basis, she made a $50 deposit and never looked back.[2]
Andersen's nickname is 'dmoongirl.' Andersen was consistently found playing $25–$50 6-max cash games online – sometimes as high as $200–$400 prior to Black Friday.[3] As one of the focal points in the online poker documentary, 'Bet Raise Fold,' her life as a professional female poker player, wife, and mother was a highlighted character arcs in the documentary. The success of 'Bet Raise Fold' catapulted her to becoming an even more recognizable face and name within the poker community.[4]

Danielle Andersen was born and raised in Minnesota. In 2014, Andersen moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with her family to pursue her online poker career with the United States' first regulated online poker site, Ultimate Poker.[8] Her early adult life was captured on film in the documentary 'Bet Raise Fold.' [9] A film about the coming of age of online poker, Andersen's life story unfolded. She was born and raised in rural Minnesota where she lived with her husband, Kory, and eleven-year-old son, Easton. She has been supporting her family with online poker since 2004. Bluff Magazine named her one of poker's 'Leading Ladies.' BET RAISE FOLD followed Danielle as she pursued her dreams of sponsorship in order to secure a better future for her family.[10] Years after the documentary premiered, Andersen signed a sponsorship deal with Ultimate Poker.[8]

Andersen has been playing poker since 2004 focusing mainly on Texas Hold'em cash games.[11] Although online poker is her focus, Andersen also plays some live poker as well. During the summers, she can be found playing tournaments at the World Series of Poker as well as cash games.[12]
Andersen is a frequent guest on the TV show Poker Night in America.[13]
